Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known for her role as the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered the Emmy Award. She is best known for her performance as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the only girl of her homemaker mother and high-ranking executive of the United Auto Workers. Delaney lived most of her life with 4 brothers. As a young girl, Delaney hoped to be a court-reporter. However, in high school her modeling career began when she was able to model commercials, she moved to New York. In 1981, she appeared as an innocent teenager in the film All My Children. Delaney's career has been filled by a myriad of TV films and dramas. While she has a impressive professional career, Delaney's private life isn't as content and successful. There were two failed marriages, and has struggled with alcoholism. She lost custody of her son in the year 2005.
